Internationally Recognized SEO Podcast – Obrigado Brazil

Chris: Hi and welcome to the unknown secrets of SEO podcast!

Paul: What’s up everyone? Welcome back to another fun-filled edition of the unknown secrets of SEO podcast.

Chris: My name is Chris Burres, owner of the EWebResults.

Paul: And this is Paul Hanson, sales manager of EWebResults.

Chris: I’m going to put the mic over closer to hear this.

Paul: (laughing)

Chris: I’m going to turn that off. All right. Having a few technical difficulties this morning.

Paul: Good Friday. Happy Good Friday to everyone out there.

Chris: So, what we like to do in our podcast as you frequent listeners know is we like to cover what we covered last time. And last time, we covered a whole bunch of things. It was a whole gamut of stuff.

Paul: So many that I couldn’t tell you what it was (laughing).

Chris: I glanced at our – we keep a tech sheet for the last podcast, which was podcast 53 and nothing’s sticking out. I remember we were all over the place and it was actually a really high energy podcast.

Paul: Google sponsored links.

Chris: Google sponsored links. So we did discuss that. We’re going to discuss that a little bit more today. Actually, we’re going to discuss my – was it an hour or maybe 45-minute phone call with Google that I had yesterday?

Paul: Oh, yeah.

Chris: So we’ll be discussing that. That’ll be pretty interesting. And so you are remember ‑ although it’s a little dysfunctional this morning ‑ you are listening to the most popular SEO podcast on iTunes. That is because you. You are potentially actually watching – hello – watching the most popular SEO podcast on iTunes, which would kind of make it a videocast. And we do broadcast the video of this live when we record the podcast that is on Fridays at 9:15 Central Standard Time. This is Good Friday and it is actually a good Friday. So the only reason we are the most popular SEO podcast on iTunes – I don’t how many more times I can say that (laughing) quickly and articulately – is because you guys are listening. We really appreciate you. We really appreciate and enjoy giving back to the SEO community. And you guys can actually give back to us and more than just viewership, you can actually stalk us.

Paul: On Facebook, Twitter…

Chris: Facebook, Twitter, USTREAM, YouTube.

Paul: (laughing)

Chris: (laughing) Paul is a little bit under the weather. Here in Houston, I don’t know if you guys have ever been in Houston or in this time of the year. There is a yellow sheen on pretty much everything. So we’re going to say that Paul has allergies to the pollen that is. They say, if you’ve never had allergies before and you moved to Houston, if you’re ever going to get them you’re going to get them here in Houston so…

Paul: What? I definitely did (laughing)

Chris: Like a mad truck (laughing). So you can follow us on Twitter, e-webstyle – actually you go to There is no dash on that. Or you can find us on Facebook. The easiest way to find us on Facebook is to go to That will forward you to our Facebook page. We still don’t remember what to call it. Is it a group? Is it a business? It’s – whatever kind of page it is, but we do know, there you can become a fan. It’s a fan right? I’ve said it confidently.

Paul: They’re changing it to like.

Chris: Okay. You can like us.

Paul: The “become a fan link?” I just read this like yesterday.

Chris: Oh, it’s going to be like?

Paul: They’re changing that to like.

Chris: Like, I like this.

Paul: (laughing)

Chris: So you can get on Facebook and eventually tell everyone you like us. In order to catch the videocast, again live Fridays at 9:15 Central Standard Time, all you need to do is go to And we also do cut up these videos, put them on YouTube and you can find – the easiest way to find that page again is I’m trying to rush through this ‘cause we’ve got a lot of good information. I think that’s it on that. How about a little news? I will…

Paul: Google China.

Chris: Yeah (laughing). Well…

Paul: (laughing) I’m getting sick of it.

Chris: Well, we can still talk – we have mentioned this before but the iPad is supposed to be coming out this weekend.

Paul: Oh, it’s not out yet?

Chris: No (laughing)…

Paul: As much as they talked about it’s like I figured it was out.

Chris: Yeah. No. It’s coming out this weekend. And one of the points that – we were talking about this yesterday – one of the points you made, which is pretty interesting like why do you think the iPad isn’t going to make it?

Paul: The keyboard.

Chris: The keyboard. Well, here’s…

Paul: Or like thereof…

Chris: I looked up news today and here was interesting statistic number 1. I don’t know, I just made it number 1.

Paul: (laughing)

Chris: Touchscreen phones have the edge. So, touchscreen phones ranked 40% higher than phones with a keyboard.

Paul: I definitely agree with that.

Chris: Okay. You got a touchscreen phone.

Paul: I had selected that phone just because it had a touchscreen.

Chris: So, maybe that’ll change later into the iPad.

Paul: Yeah. But people do…

Chris: … Apple Pad.

Paul: I don’t need a phone like this.

Chris: Yeah (laughing). He’s holding up a magazine. I don’t need a phone this big.

Paul: I mean this phone – the phone is just that big. That’s just too much.

Chris: Yeah. That is true. I did read an interesting article. It was saying that you could replace some features and you know when you’re getting really down to work – you know, it’s probably good for kids.

Paul: It’s going to be phenomenal for kids ‘cause I actually read that they’re going to market it to schools a lot, which is why – I don’t know if anyone else ever saw this – which is why Apple started to do away with its adult-natured apps because they’re going to market the iPad…

Chris: Are you referring to the Baby Shaker? (laughing)

Paul: (laughing) I forgot about that. Like two or three weeks ago, they started – is doing away with all the adult-related apps because they’re saying we’re going to market this to schools. We want this to be the item that’s…

Chris: Educational…

Paul: Yeah…

Chris: Wow! Now that’s…

Paul: So they said to clean out all their – they started to clean out the apps store…

Chris: So in that case whether or not iPad will replace a laptop or not is irrelevant because it’s going into a place where they don’t exist.

Paul: Yeah.

Chris: That’s pretty cool. That’s pretty smart. Other pieces of news, I got two quick things about Microsoft. I’m really kind of bored with news today. Microsoft Office for free. Yes when you get your laptop, you have a stripped down version of Word and Excel. Part of the reasons that it’s stripped down is item number 2. Microsoft was re-suing – a Toronto company sued them because they didn’t want to include XML features that the Toronto company created in Excel. So that’s why it’s stripped down ‘cause they lost their lawsuit. Actually no, it’s stripped down because you know – that’s stripped down. And I got to read this quote. So I’m looking through – you know, you’re always looking through other web designers in Houston or whatever and there’s one web designer who literally said, “We ain’t going to lie. You can probably find a trained monkey who’ll build a website for cheaper than we can.” And all I’ve got to say is if you’re hiring a trained monkey, you’re budget should probably be increased a little bit.

Paul: (laughing)

Chris: (laughing). And we’ll just leave it at that. Oh and I do want to give a shout-out, we’re going to exceed Gino time limit here. I want to give a shout-out to whoever is listening to us in Lisbon, Portugal. Hello! Hello out there…

Paul: That’s exciting, Portugal.

Chris: If I spoke Portuguese, I would try.

Paul: I can say this, obrigado to everybody that listen…

Chris: Obrigado.

Paul: That’s right.

Chris: All right. Awesome…

Paul: It’s the only word I know in Portuguese.

Chris: It’s our multi-lingual one-word show (laughing)

Paul: So thank you very much. That’s it. It’s the only word I know in Portuguese.

Chris: That is good. Since we’re kind of giving shout-outs right now, let’s talk to – this is a great question. Again, we love your questions. This came in. Look it’s addressed directly to It came in. We love it when you send us messages. We’ll give your link love. In this case we’ve got – it’s from Andrew Martinou and he starts off – this is another accolade. I got to read this. “I want to start off” – this is Andrew not me….

Paul: (sneezes)
